Bryn Mawr's volleyball team remained undefeated last week as it took four matches — one a 3-0 shutout — in nonconference play. The team now brings a 6-0 record to its match with Gettysburg College, a tough Centennial Conference rival, tonight at a tri-match at Rosemont College at 7 p.m. Field hockey and soccer each scored a win and a loss, and soccer co-captain Wallis Romzek '08 took Owl of the week honors. A summary of the week's action:

Cross Country

Cross Country had the weekend off and will travel to Allentown this Saturday to run in the Falcon/Mule Invite hosted by Cedar Crest College. Last season, Katie Weng '09 won this race and looks to defend her title.

Field Hockey

The Owls went 1-1 this past week with a 1-0 win on the road at Hood College before falling to Arcadia 2-0 Sunday afternoon on Shillingford Field. Friday evening against Hood, Ashley Dawkins '08 scored Bryn Mawr's lone goal of the week when she connected a penalty stroke 17 minutes into the game. Goalie Caitlin Evans '10 posted seven saves en route to her first shutout of the season.

Against Arcadia , goalies Katherine Zaylor '11 and Evans combined for 11 saves. Sara Marcus '10 led the offensive charge, registering two shots while seven other Owls tallied one shot each.

Sept. 13-20 Schedule

Cross Country: 9/15 @ Falcon/Mule Invite, 10 a.m.; Field Hockey: 9/15, 16 @ Mt. Holyoke (Seven Sisters Championships); Soccer: 9/13 vs Philadelphia Biblical, 4 p.m.; 9/15 vs Gettysburg, 1 p.m.; 9/18 vs Alvernia, 4 p.m.; Volleyball: 9/13 vs Gettysburg, 7 p.m.; 9/15 @ Rosemont Tri-Match, 3 p.m.

Soccer

The soccer team went 1-1 last week with a 3-0 win over North Carolina Wesleyan Friday afternoon and a 5-0 loss to Grinnell Sunday. Co-captain Wallis Romzek '08 netted her team-high third goal of the season while Akua Nyame-Mensah '10 and Katy Wing '10 scored the other two goals in the win. Collette Pullion '09 posted nine saves in the net as she collected her first shutout of the year.

Sunday morning against Grinnell, Sarah Simons '08 and Pullion recorded 10 saves as Nyame-Mensah and Laura Costanzo '10 registered shots on goal in the 5-0 loss.
