Azsherae Gary '11 Wins Rising Star Eddy Award

Last week, Gary, along with Gov. Ed Rendell and three-time Olympic gold medalist Dawn Staley, was honored as a "star of public education" at the Philadelphia Education Fund's 2007 "Eddy" Awards.

Hip-hop Scholars to Screen Documentary

This Friday, Nov. 16, four rising young scholars of hip-hop culture will convene for a screening and public discussion of Beyond Beats and Rhymes, a documentary characterized by its director as a "loving critique" of misogyny, homophobia and violence in hip-hop.

Bryn Mawr's grounds manager, Greg Nichols, has been elected president of the Professional Grounds Management Society, whose membership includes grounds managers of institutions from all over the country.

Bryn Mawr Grad Honored as Business Pacesetter

Charles Schwab, Inc. presented its second annual Impact Pacesetter Award to Abacus Planning Group, a financial-services firm led by Bryn Mawr Trustee Cheryl Holland '80. Abacus donated the $10,000 award to Bryn Mawr. See the video about Holland's business on the Impact Awards Web site.

Bryn Mawr Among Top 20 Producers of Fulbright Scholars


Six Bryn Mawr College students won Fulbright awards to study abroad for the 2007-08 academic year, making the school one of the top 20 liberal-arts colleges in the country in the number of students winning the prestigious awards.
