On Campus: Bryn Mawr Now Takes a Break, Combined Workplace Giving Campaign Pulls in $16K, Holiday Gathering
Bryn Mawr Now Prepares for Hibernation. As exam week approaches and the semester winds down, Bryn Mawr Now will suspend publication for several weeks unless important news breaks. Look for a new issue on Jan. 17, the Thursday before Semester II begins. The Public Affairs Office wishes all and sundry a happy and restorative Winter Break.
Combined Giving Campaign Raises $16K Community organizations and agencies that serve the population and environment of the Delaware Valley will get a boost from Bryn Mawr faculty and staff members next year, thanks to their donations to the 2007-08 Combined Workplace Giving Campaign. The final tally of gifts reached totaled $16,124, and the funds will be distributed as follows:
AIDS Fund: $320
Bread and Roses: $3,512
Environmental Fund: $1,338
United Way: $9,159
Women's Way: $1,795
The Campaign raised about 80 percent of the ambitious $20,000 goal, which is roughly equal to the amount collected during the campaign's peak year, when a portion of the money went to Hurricane Katrina Relief.
"The faculty and staff of Bryn Mawr continue to be committed to making the world a better place for all of us," says campaign committee member Tracy Kellmer. "We're already looking forward to what can be accomplished in next year's campaign."
All donors to the campaign are automatically entered into a drawing for $25 Macy's gift cards. Three gift cards were awarded to first-time donors, and four gift cards were awarded to donors who have given in previous years. This year's winners will receive their gift cards in campus mail.
First-time Donors:
Jennifer Russell, Admissions

Camilla MacKay, Library
Previous Donors:

Faculty-Staff Holiday Gathering. Members of the faculty and staff and their families are invited to President Nancy J. Vickers' annual holiday celebration in Wyndham on Monday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. The party begins with an open bar and hors d'oeuvres and continues with a buffet including a pasta station, carved ham and turkey, and a variety of salads and desserts. New members of the community are especially encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to meet new colleagues and absorb some holiday cheer.
