Bryn Mawr College endorses the principle of the Designated Suppliers Program (DSP), advocated by the Worker Rights Consortium, of identifying and supporting suppliers of college apparel who follow appropriate labor policies. The College agrees to obtain logo apparel from a set of designated supplier factories that consistently have demonstrated respect for the rights of their employees, including the right to organize, and which pay those employees a living wage, once the DSP Working Group has agreed to move forward with implementation and a positive Business Review Letter has been obtained from the U.S. Department of Justice. Bryn Mawr College joins a number of colleges and universities in the DSP Working Group, including Smith College, Hamilton College, Cornell University, and Duke University, in this effort to improve labor conditions at factories producing collegiate apparel.
