Visiting Instructors or Visiting Assistant Professors of Social Work and Social Research

The Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for up to two, full-time, one-year, Visiting Instructors or Visiting Assistant Professors beginning August 1, 2024. A renewal of the positions for an additional year is possible pending a successful review of teaching evaluations and departmental staffing needs. Candidates must have an MSW and at least two-years post MSW practice experience.

Candidates for this position must be qualified to teach in at least three of the following curricular areas: Clinical Social Work; Foundation Practice; Research Informed Practice; Assessment and Psychopathology; Theoretical Perspectives in Social Work; and Power, Privilege and Oppression. The ideal candidate will be able to offer elective content in key areas such as: substance use; integrated behavioral health; social work with older adults; child welfare; and/or other specialized fields of practice.

Responsibilities Include:
• Teach 6 courses or course equivalents within an academic year, potentially including the summer.
• Serve as an advisor for a cohort of enrolled master's level students as assigned.
• Have experience in, or willingness to develop capacity in, hybrid teaching models.
• Participate in teaching groups associated with assigned courses.
• Participate in GSSWSR faculty meetings and assist in the work of the GSSWSR faculty, faculty committees and work groups, as requested by the Dean.
