The Deplorable Underground

The Deplorable Underground by Paula Tuchman Weiss ’84 is her second dystopian novel about the U.S. in a not-so-distant future. The main characters from her first novel, Malia and David, have escaped the Diversity Justice Republic (DJR) to live as free citizens in what remains of the U.S. But DJR officials are bent on revenge and kidnap Malia, prompting David to return to the repressive DJR to rescue her.
