Lindsay Dever (Math) in Pittsburgh for the Automorphic Forms Conference

Bryn Mawr Mathematicians John Bergdall (Assistant Professor), Lindsay Dever (Graduate Student), and Djordje Milićević (Associate Professor) attended the 33rd Annual Automorphic Forms Workshop at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The conference was held from March 6-10, 2019. Milićević was a co-organizer of the workshop.

John Bergdall, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, gave his talk "Upper bounds for constant slope p-adic families of modular forms." His talk presented ongoing research into p-adic families, a group of theoretical mathematical families whose existence have recently been challenged, despite predictions of their existence through numerical experimentation in the 1990's. Bergdall's talk discussed recent theoretical attempts to salvage what remains of a debunked theory.
