The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is pleased to congratulate Samantha Pezzimenti of Mathematics on the successful April 19th defense of her dissertation, "Immersed Lagrangian Fillings of Legendrian Submanifolds via Generating Families."
Samantha's dissertation is an exploration into a type of mathematical knot called Legendrian knots. Specifically, her work looked at topological restrictions on surfaces which are bounded by this knot class, extending the tradition of her advisor, Professor Lisa Traynor of Bryn Mawr's Department of Mathematics as well as the work of Haverford Professor of Mathematics Joshua Sabloff.
We are proud to announce that Samantha has accepted an position as Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State Brandywine. Congratulations Samantha!
