Students and faculty from Bryn Mawr's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research (GSSWSR) attended the annual Society for Social Work and Research conference in Phoenix, Arizona last month. Dean Janet Shapiro, Visiting Scholar Nataliia Gusak, and Ph.D. students Sangeun Lee and Saira Afzal attended the conference, one of the largest gatherings of social work researchers in the country.
Gusak presented “Understanding Perinatal Mental Health and Its Psychosocial Determinants Through Ukrainian Women’s Experience.”
Lee presented “’I Can’t Make a Decision for Them’: Bilingual, Bicultural Community Workers Describe Covid-19 Vaccination Uptake Among Older Asian American Immigrants.”
Afzal presented “How Much is Enough and Who Should Decide? Opinions of Pediatric Youth Suicide Attempt Survivors, Their Caregivers, and Providers about Family Involvement during Inpatient Treatment” and “Practical and Ethical Risk Management Considerations for Remote Research with Youth Who Have Been Hospitalized for a Suicide Attempt: Lessons Learned from the (virtual) Field."
