The following information provides a brief profile of the 2019-20 class of Bryn Mawr postbac students.
Age Range
The students in this year's class range in age from 21 to 34 years.
Of these,
24 are age 26 and over
29 are 24 or 25
13 are 23
11 are between 21 and 22.
Geographic Distribution
47% are from the Northeast
17% are from the Mid-Atlantic
15.5% are from the Midwest
6% are from the Southeast
14.5% are from the West
Undergraduate Education
This year's class graduated from 48 different colleges and universities. Of these,
20 attended small liberal-arts colleges
22 attended Ivy League institutions
11 attended public universities
24 attended private research universities
22 have graduate degrees
Professional and Life Experience
Overall, the members of this year's class have broad and diverse experience in a variety of fields, including teaching, research, community health and medical services, financial services, software and mechanical engineering, the arts, theater, journalism, municipal and state government, ministry, and law. There are members of the class who are former Peace Corp volunteers, Fulbright scholars, and Teach for America fellows. A number of students are certified EMTs or have worked as medical scribes, 2 students are nurses. Two students are veterans (Air Force, Navy). Finally, many students have had significant professional or volunteer experience abroad and several students are heritage speakers of a foreign language.
