The following information provides a brief profile of the 2018-19 class of Bryn Mawr postbac students.
The students in our class of 2018-19 range in age from 21 to 31 years.
27 are age 26 and over
24 are 24 or 25
15 are 23
10 are between 21 and 22.
47% are from the Northeast
17% are from the Mid-Atlantic
15.5% are from the Midwest
6% are from the Southeast
14.5% are from the West
The 2018-19 class graduated from 32 different colleges and universities. Of these,
17 attended small liberal-arts colleges
20 attended Ivy League institutions
20 attended public universities
19 attended private research universities
12 have graduate degrees
Professional and Life Experience
Overall, the 2018-19 class has broad and diverse experience in a variety of fields, including research, community health and medical services, financial services, software and mechanical engineering, the arts, theater, journalism, municipal and state government, ministry, and law. There are 2 members of the postbac class who have served in the Peace Corps, 3 students who were Fulbright Scholars, a student who was a NIH IRTA Fellow, and another who was a Udall Scholar. A number of students are certified EMTs or have worked as medical scribes, 2 students are nurses, and one student is a certified doula. One student is a reservist in the National Guard. Finally, many students have had significant professional or volunteer experience abroad and several students are heritage speakers of a foreign language.
