Master of Social Service (MSS)
Application Deadlines
- Early Action: Dec. 15
- International Applications: Jan. 1
- Regular Decision: April 15
Application Requirements
- Submit an online application.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University (Note: Undergraduates completing their senior year of college may also apply. Accepted students must provide a final degree transcript before classes begin).
- Personal statement: Please see online application for essay prompt. The average length of the statement is two pages, double-spaced.
- 3 Letters of Recommendation (Note: If you have been out of school for 5 years or less, two letters must come from academic references. Applicants who have been out of school for more than 5 years may submit professional recommendations.)
- Official transcripts (from all colleges and universities attended). Please direct official transcripts to gradadmissions@brynmawr.edu.
- Admissions interview: Once your written application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Office of Graduate Admissions to schedule your interview.
Additional Information
- The MSS program does not require standardized test scores for admission.
- The MSS program does not offer social work course or field credit for life experience or previous work experience.

Application Requirements
- Submit an online application.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (must be from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program within 5 years of application with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0),
- Personal statements: Please see online application for essay prompts.
- 3 Letters of Recommendation, one each from the following:
- B.S.W. Program Director
- A field instructor
- A faculty member
- Official transcripts (from all colleges and universities attended). Please direct official transcripts to gradadmissions@brynmawr.edu.
