Core Trauma-Informed Leadership Series

Leadership in times of uncertainty demands more than strategic skill as it requires emotional agility, self-awareness, and the capacity to lead through healing. This two-part series expands the definition of effective leadership by embedding the principles of trauma-informed care, emotional intelligence, and organizational resilience into everyday management practice.

Part One (March 27th), Managing the Storms of Leadership: Trauma-Informed Strategies for Effective Management, introduces the foundations of trauma-informed leadership by understanding triggers, fostering psychological safety, and cultivating resilient teams.

This training goes beyond traditional leadership tactics, embedding the principles of trauma-informed care into everyday management practices. Discover how to lead with empathy, build resilient teams, and foster a supportive work environment that prioritizes emotional and psychological well-being. Equip yourself with the tools to manage effectively through crises and everyday challenges, ensuring your leadership approach aligns with the evolving needs of your team.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize and Manage Emotional Triggers: Identify common emotional triggers in the workplace and learn strategies to manage them effectively to prevent re-traumatization.
  2. Foster Emotional and Psychological Safety: Develop techniques to create a safe work environment where team members feel secure, supported, and valued.
  3. Implement Trauma-Informed Communication: Enhance communication skills to address and mitigate the impacts of trauma, ensuring clear, compassionate, and effective exchanges.
  4. Build and Sustain Resilient Teams: Cultivate resilience within teams by integrating trauma-informed practices that support recovery and promote well-being.
  5. Engage in Trauma-Informed Problem Solving: Utilize trauma-informed approaches in problem-solving to address workplace issues with sensitivity and effectiveness.

Part Two (May 1st), Leading Through the Aftermath: Advanced Trauma-Informed Practices for Sustainable Change, builds on the foundation of Part One by equipping leaders to sustain recovery, strengthen trust, and guide teams toward long-term well-being and innovation.

Through reflective discussion, applied frameworks, and practical tools, participants will gain strategies to lead with empathy, stability, and vision—turning storms into opportunities for growth and restoration.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between crisis response and post-crisis recovery to apply trauma-informed leadership strategies that promote sustained organizational healing.
  2. Integrate emotional intelligence and cultural responsiveness to rebuild trust and connection within diverse teams.
  3. Design trauma-informed systems of accountability and performance management that support growth without re-traumatization.
  4. Foster post-traumatic growth and innovation by leveraging lessons from adversity to strengthen resilience, inclusion, and well-being across the organization.

Who Should Attend:

While a great fit for administrators and supervisors supporting a team, all persons interested in leadership and organizational development are invited and welcome to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: Part One is a prerequisite for Part Two. Please register for the entire 2026 series or Part Two only if you've attended a previous session of Part One: Managing the Storms of Leadership.
