A Message from Vasiliki (Lina) Kassianidou '89

Lina and Bruni

Photo taken in 1989 in my Garden party just before graduation in 1989.

Dear Bruni, I wish you a very happy birthday! It was really an honour to have you as a professor. You were an amazing teacher. Your enthusiasm for classical archaeology was contagious and we learned so much from you. You were also very caring, making sure of the well being of all of your students.

I will always remember you waltzing in the Aegean Seminar room to check how we were, bringing cake and offering a word of wisdom.

You are an inspiration for all of us and a role model—not only you have been extraordinary scholar, you were also a mother who was trying to balance parenthood with a career. As many of us are still trying to do this, it is always comforting to look at you and think that it can be done! Thank you for everything! Happy Birthday!

Love, Lina (Vasiliki) Kassianidou, Class of 1989
