Discussion: Dialogue on Race Discussion on Natural Disaster Relief in Communities of Color

November 3, 2017

Tuesday, Nov. 7, 7PM, Quita Woodward Room, College Hall

Join Dialogue on Race for its first Featured Topic discussion of the year! The theme is Natural Disaster Relief in Communities of Color. Dialogue on Race’s form of facilitation incites productive dialogue about institutionalized racism.

What is Dialogue on Race?

“Dialogue on Race at Bryn Mawr is a program that was brought to BMC by a student 2 years ago. Unlike many of the discussions about race at Bryn Mawr, this form of facilitation incites productive dialogue about institutionalized racism. The institutions we are all governed by are inherently racist, which is why it is important to have conversations of how these systems have affected personal narratives, rather than forcing people to share these personal stories in order to convey that racism still exists. Racism exists throughout every facet of our society, we must acknowledge that and talk about it.”
