Fellowship: Pensby Center Summer Fellowship

The Pensby Center is pleased to announce the availability of up to three summer 2017 funded fellowships for eligible undergraduates. These annual fellowships support projects that relate to the Pensby Center's mission of promoting diversity, inclusion and community development. 

Eligibility: Any currently enrolled first-year, sophomore or junior is eligible to submit a proposal and apply. Fellowship applicants must be continuing at the College (either in residence or as study abroad students) in Fall 2017.

Application Requirements:

1. One copy of a 2-page proposal for the fellowship (see Proposal Guidelines below and on application form).

2. One copy of an updated resume listing pertinent background information, extracurricular activities, community activities and research experience.

3. The name of a Bryn Mawr or Haverford faculty member, staff member or dean who can comment on your ability to conduct an independent project or research and who could serve as a mentor for the project.

4. A current transcript.

Proposal Guidelines:

Applicants will describe a project that they would be passionate about completing this summer. Proposals should include:

  • a title and brief description of your project
  • an explanation of how the project relates to the Pensby Center's mission of promoting diversity, inclusion and community development
  • a brief personal statement explaining why the fellowship is important to your academic, professional, and/or personal development
  • a time line of your proposed work/research activities over the course of 8-10 weeks
  • the benefit your project would bring to the Bryn Mawr community

Fellowship Details: Each fellowship will provide a $4000 stipend for an 8-10 week research or project period.
