Screening and Discussion: 'Guerrero' Film by Ludovic Bonleux

April 6, 2018

Friday, April 13, 1:30-4:30PM, Haverford College

“Guerrero” (114 min) by Ludovic Bonleux portrays the story of three Mexican activists, Coni, Juan, and Mario, that have devoted their lives to fight back organized crime and state violence. In the wake of the War against Drugs by former president Felipe Calderón, violence has dramatically increased resulting in executions, and the enforced disappearance of more than 30, 000 people. Given the widespread impunity and government’s lack of response to human rights crisis, these activists have been pushed either to organize a communal guard or to search for their beloved ones and identify human remains in clandestine mass graves.

This event will take place in Haverford’s VCAM Screening Room. To learn more, please see the event’s Facebook page.
