Summit: Service Leaders Summit

October 27, 2017

Saturday, Nov. 4, 9:30AM-4PM, Drexel University, Philadelphia

This event will bring together college students, faculty, nonprofit professionals, and community organizers to share passionate ideas and practical skills for building a better Philadelphia. This year’s theme, The Nonprofit Sector, will focus awareness on the myriad ways college students (and others) aim to make positive change on their campuses, in their communities, and around the world whether through direct service, indirect service, advocacy, activism, or some combination. LILAC | Civic Engagement can pay your registration fee and reimburse your SEPTA costs!

The keynote speaker of the Service Leaders Summit will be Dr. Deborah Diamond, President & CEO of Campus Philly. Workshops will explore topics such as:

  • The 5 Things You Wish You Knew Before You Started A Nonprofit by Oscar Wang, founder and CEO of Mentor for Philly
  • Social Media for the Social Sector by Leah McGlone, Communications and Social Media, Witty Gritty
  • The Social Ecosystem by Dr. Jim Klinger, professor emeritus, Villanova University

Civic Engagement is willing to pay the $15 registration fee as well as SEPTA expenses between Bryn Mawr and Drexel for any Bryn Mawr student who wishes to attend.  Interested students should contact Ellie Esmond (eesmond@brynmawr.edu) and she can arrange a time for them to either meet with her to register online (so Ellie can pay for them with the CE credit card) or they can register online themselves here and request reimbursement following the event.
