Trustee Ana María López '82 was named president of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the national organization of internists. Her term began during Internal Medicine Meeting 2018, ACP’s annual scientific meeting held in New Orleans from April 19-21.
Dr. López is an associate vice president for Health Equity and Inclusion at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center and the director of Cancer Health Equity at the Hunstman Cancer Institute. She is also a professor of medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Lopez will join the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center of Thomas Jefferson University as vice chair of medical oncology in June 2018.
