The below message was sent to students, faculty, and staff on September 17, 2026.
Dear students, faculty, and staff:
You are invited to an open conversation featuring updates on summer improvements to campus safety and security.
We hope you will join us on Thursday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Campus Center.
Topics will include this summer's addition of a small number of security cameras along the campus perimeter, as well as our plans to add card-reader door locks to all buildings that are in regular use for classes, labs, and other educational activities. We expect to complete this work by the end of the academic year. Card readers are already in use on all residence halls.
These measures are intended to provide a safe and secure environment for those who live and work on campus, without intruding on individuals' privacy.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 24.
Sincerely,
Christopher Barth
