Since earning her degree in Growth and Structure of Cities with a minor in Environmental Studies, Elena Luedy '19 has returned to her home state of Michigan to work at the Detroit Land Bank Authority as a Challenge Detroit Fellow.

Challenge Detroit partners fellows with host companies where they work Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the fellows take a day out of the office to bring social impact challenge projects to life in collaboration with local nonprofit partners.

"My Bryn Mawr education prepared me in a multitude of ways for my Challenge Detroit Fellowship and in my employment at the Detroit Land Bank Authority, especially in being able to thoughtfully articulate my opinions in meetings," says Elena. "Being one of the younger employees was originally daunting, however being a Mawrter means having the unwavering confidence to speak one's mind. My time at Bryn Mawr was not always strawberries and cream, but it has shaped me into the confident young professional I am today."
