Changes to SEPTA Service

August 24, 2025

The below message was sent to faculty and staff on August 24, 2025.

To all faculty and staff,

Due to a lack of state transit funding, SEPTA has implemented major service cuts starting today, Sunday, August 24.

These cuts will affect many faculty and staff who rely on public transportation to get to and from work. We ask all managers to be flexible and work with staff as they adjust to these changes.

SEPTA has posted new schedules for all impacted bus and Metro routes, as well as Regional Rail trains on its website.

Changes include:

  • Paoli/Thorndale regional rail will run a reduced schedule and will arrive less frequently.

  • Bus route 106 will be completely eliminated from the network on Aug. 24.  Routes 105 & 106 will be combined into one route.

  • Service on the Norristown High Speed Line is unchanged.

The Philadelphia Inquirer has put together an interactive guide to how the cuts will impact riders.

We recognize that these changes may cause challenges for many in our community, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as everyone adapts. Please reach out to your supervisor or Human Resources if you need additional support or have questions about how these changes may affect your commute. The College is exploring various avenues to support staff and faculty in their commuting challenges. We will be back in touch when we have more information.

Sincerely,
