Class of 2019: Maryanne Kihiu

April 8, 2019
Maryanne Kihiu

Post-graduation plans: Working as a research assistant at CHOP in a lab that investigates the higher chromatin structure.

Major: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Maryanne on her Bryn Mawr Experience: It was full of highs and lows. I have made deep friendships and connections which I hope to keep when I leave. I have made mistakes and laughed, and cried about them. Having dinner in a buzzy dining hall and reflecting on a day's events was one of my favorite moments.

Key experiences:

  • Culture shock
  • Internship at MD Anderson Cancer Center: I did research on leukemia and discovered my passion for immunology.
  • Traditions

Hometown: Kiambu, Kenya
