The following email was sent to faculty, students, and staff by Director Facilities Services Glenn Smith on Tuesday, October 27.
The front part of Thomas will be closed on Saturday, November 7, from approximately 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM while the crane is removing the large steel beams used to erect the scaffolding. The rain date for this event is Sunday, November 8.
People will be allowed in Rhys Carpenter Library and the Quita Woodward wing, but the rest of the building will be completely closed during this crane operation.
