Emergency Notification Test

The following email was sent to students, faculty, and staff by Director of Operations in Campus Safety Lil Burroughs on Tuesday, November 3.

Hi Friends,

We will be conducting a test of our Emergency Notification System this Friday, November 6, at 3 p.m.

Our emergency notification system is comprised of: 

  1. An audible siren with a public address component.
  2. An electronic notification component capable of sending out messages via land-line, cell phone, e-mail, and text messaging.

Message content will be:

This is a test of the Bryn Mawr College Emergency Notification System. This is only a test. In the event of an emergency, you will be notified by a combination of e-mail, text, and voice messages with information on the nature of the emergency, what action to undertake, and where to turn for further information. This is only a test. Thank you for your participation.

Important: To let the alert system know that you received the message:

  • The phone message will prompt you to Press 1 to hear the message - press 1 again to confirm receipt of the message.
  • The e-mail alert will contain a link that contains the message.  Click on the e-mail link to confirm receipt of the message.
