Subject: Are you interested in promoting Positive Body Image and creating NEW ideals???

Hey Mawrters, What is The Body Project? The Body Project is a dissonance-based body-acceptance program designed to help high school girls and college-age women resist cultural pressures to conform to the thin-ideal standard of female beauty and reduce their pursuit of unhealthy thinness.

The Body Project is supported by more research than any other body image program and has been found to reduce onset of eating disorders. Last year we trained 11 BMC students as peer leaders and 5 faculty facilitators and we are looking for more passionate and inspired first year-third year students to join us this year. Is that you??

Through generous funding of the Mimi Murray Fund, The BMC Body Image Council (BIC)is proud to bring The Body Project back to BMC in 2017. We are searching for qualified individuals to be a peer leader to the collegiate peer-led model. The training will be limited to 12-16 peer leaders (*first year-third year BMC students). The tentative training date set is January 28 & 29th, here on the BMC campus.

What is the time commitment? Training will take place over two days. January 28 & 29th, 2017. Once you are trained, the Peer-lead model will require approximately 2-4 hours a month of your time. Check out the Website for more information: http://www.bodyprojectcollaborative.com/

If you are a leader, are interested in promoting POSITIVE BODY IMAGE in yourself and among your peers, contact Laura by ASAP to begin the application process. There may be a brief interview as well for interested participants. After the application/interview process participants will be notified of confirmation to participate in the training. Don't wait to apply, limited space is available !!

Warmly,

Laura
