Kristin Kury '16 has directed "Crooked" by Catherine Trieschmann for her senior theater thesis.
Presented with special arrangement by Samuel French Inc., "Crooked" follows 14-year-old Laney, who arrives in Oxford, Mississippi with a twisted back, a mother in crisis, and a burning desire to be a writer. When she befriends Maribel Purdy, a fervent believer in the power of Jesus Christ to save her from the humiliations of high school, Laney embarks on a hilarious spiritual and sexual journey that challenges her mother's secular worldview and threatens to tear their fragile relationship apart.
"Crooked" features Amelia Couderc '16, Kristin Kury '16, and Erica Rice '17.
Performances are Friday, April 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 23 at 2 p.m. in the Goodhart Common Room. The run time is 80 minutes and the show is performed without an intermission. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Email ebasenengq@brynmawr.edu to reserve a seat.
