Student Activities Treats Bryn Mawr Students to Pippin!

March 7, 2016 By Zubin Hill '17

A group of approximately 30 Bryn Mawr students were transported into a world of gymnastics, bright colors, and flashy musical numbers during the February 27 matinee performance of the musical Pippin!, held at The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.

The trip, coordinated by Bryn Mawr College’s Student Activities, allowed Bryn Mawr students to attend the musical and purchase the $75 tickets at the subsidized price of $10.

“Getting the discounted price is really important, just to make it accessible to students,” says Clara Kaufmann ’16 “It’s also nice to have the transportation to get us there on time and saving us from having to take the train.”

By turns poignant and kitschy, the show itself also received high praise from the audience, with everything from the ringmaster’s showmanship to the acrobatics to the production values being cited as high points.

As Naomi Siegel ’19 pronounced: “Oversexualized, yes. Political, very much so. Well done? Definitely.”
