Activity Level: Guests should be able to enjoy two hours or more of walking, be sure-footed on cobbled surfaces, and walk up and down stairs without assistance. Historic city centers are usually more accessible by foot than vehicle. Due to the structure of some buildings, facilities for those with mobility issues may be limited.

Transfer from your home city to Lyon, France
Upon arrival in Lyon, transfer to the river ship and enjoy a welcome reception and dinner.
Become acquainted with this city during a half day tour, including Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A gentle ascent to Fourviere Hill provides breathtaking panoramic views of Lyon and the convergence of the Rhone and Saone Rivers. Continue to Les Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse, a Mecca of culinary excellence.
Join the guided panoramic city tour through Avignon. The lavish Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) is a fortress, church, and palace all in one and was considered the center of the Christian world during the 14th Century. Alternatively, join an excursion (additional $95/person fee) to Chateauneuf-Du-Pape for a vineyard tasting and tour.
See one of Europe's best preserved Roman amphitheaters- an imposing monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the remarkable Pont du Gard, a three-tiered aqueduct bridge spanning the river Gardon. Visit the olive oil mill at the foot of the Chateau des Baux.
Today offers a full-day excursion to Aix-en-Provence, a city featuring graceful boulevards, lavender fields, and welcoming locals. Walk in the footsteps of Cezanne as you explore this elegant town's bustling markets, tree-lined plazas, museums, and wine shops.
Disembark for a scenic drive through mountain vistas and lavender fields, arriving at a truffle farm near Grignan where the treasures referred to as "black diamonds" are abundant. During a tour, learn about the canines specially bred to sniff out these delicacies, and watch a demonstration of the seeking and retrieval methods. Continue to stately Chateau de Grignan, a Renaissance castle, for a guided tour.
Valence is a serene heaven for food lovers- especially celebrated for its goat cheeses. Journey to tour a goat farm where you'll meet the animals and sample a selection of fresh cheeses. This evening, while cruising to Lyon, gather for a special Captain's Dinner to commemorate your trip.
