Student filmmaker Nadia Kim's stop motion work, "Windglobe," was selected to appear in the 10th Annual Tri-Co Film Festival at Bryn Mawr Film Institute and received the festival's Jury Award for "outstanding stop-motion animation with a unique attention to details and a story that is both powerful yet meditative."

Created last summer, "Windglobe" is inspired by Kim's spring 2020 semester in Edinburgh, Scotland. Kim muses, "How do I become a part of the motion of the city? The waves of the buildings, the noises that fill the air, the way the people walk? The city that I arrive to is one I’ve known from beyond the glass walls. Then, I realize that the walls have been broken."

The festival’s three short-film programs of students' works are available to screen for free through May 27. Visit the Tri-Co Film Festival page to learn more and reserve.

Kim also recently directed and designed the short film "Interlude," created as part of a Theater Program independent study with resident designer Maiko Matushima. The short is about a woman named Ophelia pulled back into her repressed past. Toeing the lines between dream and reality, Ophelia has a choice to make. Kim collaborated with Theater Program alum Olivia Xing '20 to create the narrative film. Click here to view "Interlude" online.
