Please be advised that the FBI has notified all Philadelphia-area colleges and universities about a recent social media posting regarding a possible threat to a Philadelphia area college or university on Monday, October 5. The FBI has seen similar social media postings throughout the country.
In their message to all colleges in this area, the FBI noted, “At this time we have no knowledge of any specific threat to any specific college/university in the Philadelphia area.”
Although the FBI has confirmed that there have been no additional threats at this time, Bryn Mawr has more than doubled the number of Campus Safety officers present on campus. Command staff of the Lower Merion Police Department are aware of the threat and are increasing their presence in the area and throughout our campus as well.
In addition, Bryn Mawr's Counseling Center will have walk-in hours from 10:00 - 11:00 am and from 3:00 - 4:00 pm for students and other community members.
Classes will be held as scheduled. Community members are reminded to practice vigilance and care by maintaining all safety protocols.
