Biology Major May Ninghe Cai ’17 recently gave a presentation at the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.

May’s presentation was titled "Using Simple Clinical Measures to Predict Insulin Resistance in Girls with PCOS" and was the result of summer research she had done with Dr. Melanie Cree-Green ‘99, a pediatric endocrinologist at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

In addition to her presentation, May and Dr. Cree-Green wrote a publication together on the relationship between insulin resistance and mitochondria function in non-diabetic youth.

May was introduced to Dr. Cree-Green through LILAC’s externship program.
