Depart your home city for Milan, Italy.
Arrive in Milan and transfer to Como. Check into the Palace Hotel on the shore of Lake Como. This evening, join your travel companions for a Welcome reception and dinner at the hotel.
Start your morning with a fascinating lecture on Como's history. Stroll through Old Como and admire magnificent architectural sites such as the Gothic Duomo di Como, the Romanesque Basilica di San Fedele and more. Enjoy lunch on your own and explore Como independently.
Visit Milan's world-famous Teatro all Scala opera house, a neoclassical jewel of gilt boxes and glittering chandeliers. Visit the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Duomo, a Gothic cathedral that took nearly 500 years to complete. Explore the city on your own and enjoy lunch in Milan before returning to Como in the evening.
On a private boat ride on Lake Maggiore, sail past islands with beautiful villas, graced with natural beauty. Visit the crown jewel of the Borromean archipelago Isola Bella, boasting the 17th-century Palazzo Borromeo. Explore the palace and lush gardens. Reboard the boat for the return to Stresa, the setting of Hemingway's novel "A Farewell to Arms." Back at the hotel, hear a lecture by a local expert on the silk industry.
Delver deeper into Como during your choice of the following activities: pasta fresca cooking class, Como culinary tour, or wine tasting at La Costa Winery. In the evening, enjoy a group dinner at a local ristorante.
Cruise by private boat across Lake Como, while learning about its fascinating history and allure. Visit the magnificent Villa del Balbianello, which you may recognize from "Casino Royale". Continue to the town of Bellagio, often described as the most beautiful town in Italy. Enjoy time to explore Bellagio at your own pace and enjoy lunch at a local eatery before returning to Como.
Today is free for independent pursuits- perhaps a visit to Villa Carlotta, an elegant botanical garden and museum on Lake Como. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner at the hotel.
Following breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
