Presidential Student Advisory Council Students

Jackie (she/her/ella) is a Mexican-American, first generation, senior and Posse Scholar from Houston, Texas. She is pursuing a double major in Political Science and Sociology with a minor in Latin American, Iberian, and Latina/o Studies. Her interests revolve around Latin American politics and migrant communities. At Bryn Mawr, Jackie was awarded the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. In her research, she examines the role of transnational musical practices in keeping families connected to Mexico from the United States. In addition, she is also a staff member at the Quantitative Center. Finally, Jackie is an active member in Mujeres* and is on the Executive Board for Mawrters for Immigrant Justice.

Adelynn Arroyo is a junior majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Anthropology. Arroyo is from a small town along the shoreline of Connecticut. She has always been interested in the biological and cultural aspects of human behavior and hope to attend grad school for dentistry or another medical-related field. In addition to my studies, she is part of the Bryn Mawr College women’s varsity soccer team, currently serving as a team captain. She strongly believes that being part of a team has been one of the most rewarding parts of her college experience, and she is grateful for the friendships and support that she has found in her teammates and coaches. Outside of academics and soccer, she enjoys traveling with her family, reading by the beach, and spending time with her dog, Hazel.

Leaida Dever is a second-year Master's student at Bryn Mawr College's Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Dever holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Kutztown University, as well as a paralegal certificate from Villanova University. She is the chairperson for the Graduate Student Association of GSSWSR and also reinstated GSSWSR's Association of Black Social Workers Chapter. Her goal in pursuing a career in social work is to advocate for the well-being of students in primary education. By incorporating trauma-informed care principles, she aims to work with children to help them find their voice, feel empowered, and experience a sense of safety, value, and visibility, all while supporting them in a school environment. Dever is interested in the Presidential Student Advisory Committee because it is important to have a space where student voices can be heard. This committee will provide a valuable opportunity to share our thoughts and concerns with BMC.

​​Kate is a premed post-baccalaureate student at Bryn Mawr. She grew up in Connecticut and studied history and writing at Yale University, where she was an outdoor trip leader and worked for the endowment. After graduating she worked in real estate private equity for six years before deciding to pursue medicine. Kate loves hiking mountains with friends, galloping on horseback, and reading.

Meg Halpern is from the Philadelphia suburbs, where she graduated from Lower Moreland High School. She is currently a sophomore in Bryn Mawr College’s Class of 2028 and a prospective Economics and Mathematics double major. On campus, she is a team leader and goalie for the varsity lacrosse team, where she also manages the team’s Instagram (@bmclax) and plans team bonding events. Beyond lacrosse, Meg serves as the Head of Public Relations for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and runs the @bmcsaac Instagram account. She co-hosts a radio show for the Bi-Co’s WHRC Radio. When she is not on the field or in the studio, she loves relaxing in her dorm with her (lacrosse team) pet fish, who keeps her great company. After college, she plans to pursue a career in consulting.

Kripa Lamichhane is a senior major in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science.  She is from Chitwan, Nepal.
On campus, she serves as the President’s Student Advisor and Senior Advisor for the Girls Who Code chapter, where she helps organize events that connect students with industry professionals and foster cross-campus tech initiatives. I’m also the Grand Captain for Student Engagement in Campus, leading the planning and execution of campus-wide events, and a Peer Mentor at the Q-Center, supporting students in data analysis and science.
Beyond campus, she works as a Technical Product Manager at FSH Technologies, a Philadelphia-based startup.
Kripa is passionate about blending creativity and technology through building web apps for myself , designing intuitive user experiences, or creating embroidered art and scented candles in my free time. In the future, she aspires to work at a tech company that values innovation and creativity, ideally in a product, software, data or creative tech role.

Gabriela Marie Pabon (she/her) is a first year student with plans to attain an A.B/M.A in Classical Languages and Literatures. She earned an IB Diploma in 2025 with research on the mysteries of Demeter and Kore and the name recognition of Greek priestesses. On campus, Gabriela is active as president of the Bryn Mawr Pagans Alliance, a first year Traditions representative, and a cast member in Shakespeare Performance Troop’s production of Medea. She is from Frederick, Maryland, where she works for a historic house museum, serves on the leadership board of the Frederick Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPS), and volunteers at her local LGBTQ+ nonprofit, The Frederick Center.

Sarah Spielman is a physics PhD student in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Under Prof. Michael Noel, her research combines experimental and computational techniques to explore thermodynamics in quantum many-body systems. She is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and has held the Student Member position of the American Physical Society's Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics Executive Committee. At Bryn Mawr, she is the co-chair of the Graduate Student Association and has served as a representative to the Board of Trustees, on the Strategic Planning Steering Committee, and the Academy Working Group for the Comprehensive Campus Plan. Sarah also attended a small liberal arts college as an undergraduate, earning her BS in physics from Denison University.

Purity Wanjiku is an international student from Nairobi, Kenya, and a junior (Class of 2027) at Bryn Mawr College, majoring in Mathematics and Economics. On campus, she serves as President of Karibu Circle( Kenyan Students Association), Treasurer of Skiing and Snowboarding Club, and a member of Bryn Mawr Consulting Club. She also works as a Student Manager in the college's libraries as well as a Help Desk Student Technician. Purity enjoys walking, traveling, and crocheting. Her academic interests center on how data analytics and economic research can inform inclusive and sustainable growth. As a member of the Presidential Student Advisory Committee, she looks forward to advocating for belonging, collaboration, and expanded access to experiential learning across campus. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in data-driven consulting or economic policy that creates meaningful social impact.

Lia is in her senior year at Bryn Mawr College, pursuing a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an M.A. in French and Francophone Studies. In addition to being a student researcher in Dr. Tamara Davis’s lab, she is a teaching assistant and major representative for the French Department, an intern and tour guide in the Admissions Office, and a member of the Bi-College Chamber Singers. Having served as one of two undergraduate representatives for one of the Strategic Plan Working Groups in her first year (2022-2023), she is eager to help support the President in her endeavors to guide the College towards its next chapter.
