Calling all actors, soccer players, and would-be actors and soccer players of any and all experience levels.

Theater Auditions for the Bi-Co Theater Program's Spring 2019 production of

The Wolves
By Sarah DeLappe

Auditions will be held at Bryn Mawr College on Dec. 10 and 11, 6-9:30 p.m., Goodhart Common Room.

Register for an Audition Slot

Callbacks will be held Dec. 12.

Please be aware: This is an extremely physical production, in which the actors must believably portray competitive soccer players. Although there is no expectation of soccer prowess (or soccer knowledge of any kind), part of the rehearsal process will involve physical training to get us all into shape.

Copies of the script will be made available in the Arts Office if you’d like to read the play. You will need to check them out and remain in the building to read them.

The Wolves, first produced in 2016, follows a season in the lives of the members of a high school girls’ soccer team. The New York Times described the play as “…an incandescent portrait” in which, “The scary, exhilarating brightness of raw adolescence emanates from every scene…. As we listen and try to make sense of the torrent of words, each young woman emerges by degrees as a completely defined self.”

The Wolves will be directed by Assistant Professor Catharine Slusar. In addition to being on the faculty of the Bi-College Theater Program, where she directs and teaches acting at various levels, Catharine has also taught at a number of other universities. She is an active professional actor herself and has performed extensively in the Philadelphia area and beyond.

Experience isn’t necessary…Curiosity is essential.

Who should audition? People interested in having the most intensive semester-long theater experience they can have. Auditions are open to everybody, regardless of previous experience or class year. Come with a spirit of adventure and a readiness to play. Bring your schedule.

What if I'm interested in theater but not in acting? We’re always open to students who are interested in learning about technical theater and production work. Email our production manager, Amy Radbill (aradbill@brynmawr.edu).

What if I have questions or can't come at the set times? Email the director, Catharine Slusar (cslusar@brynmawr.edu).

What should I prepare? No need to prepare anything. Come in clothes that allow you to move and feel comfortable, be ready to play some games as a group and to do some physical work (this is a show about athletes), and be ready to read a bit from the play.

Audition to do the production for academic credit, for P.E. credit, or just for fun.
