Since it's a new semester, we thought it might be a good time to re-introduce ourselves with some FAQ.
Q: How can I get help with educational technology? Educational Technology Services is available for consultation on everything from setting up your Moodle class to redesigning your syllabus around a digital project! You can ask a question or schedule a consultation through the Help Desk, or stop by our open Office Hours. This semester, they will be held 3:30-5pm Mondays during the academic semesters in Canaday 315. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome, no appointment necessary!
Q: What if I want to do something really exciting--try out a new technology, redesign my class, start a project. What sort of support is available to me? For more extensive projects, faculty, staff, and graduate students are invited to apply for Digital Bryn Mawr Seed Grants. Many of this year's Tech Talks are faculty members reporting back on their experiences--they're a great place to start! Q: Where's that amazing recent grad on your team who I used to work with? We offer 1-2 year post-baccalaureate positions for recent BMC graduates as a way to gain professional and digital skills. If you worked with someone awesome who isn't here any more, no worries--we've got new amazing graduates joining our team all the time!
Q: I'm a student. Can I get a job with Educational Technology? Absolutely! We offer regular internships each summer. If you're interested, don't miss the first Tech Talk of the semester, which will be held September 11 at 4pm in Old Library 224. Hear from last summer's interns about all of the neat projects they did with film, interactive games, information security, and more!
Q: What are the most exciting things happening in digital scholarship and pedagogy this semester? A few of our favorites:
- The Bryn Mawr Digital Competencies Program (and a Digital Competencies workshop for students!)
- The Data Intensive Weekend Mini-Course for Students (co-sponsored by LILAC!)
- A whole series of Tuesday Tech Talks
