Bond to Lead College’s Alumnae Relations Department

September 6, 2016

Millicent Bond ’05 was recently named Bryn Mawr College’s Director of Alumnae Relations, a new position within the combined division of Alumnae/i Relations and Development.

In this new role, Bond joins the leadership team of the College’s reorganized Alumnae/i Relations and Development division. The reorganized division centralizes a number of functions—such as the magazine, career support, communications, and volunteer development—to allow the Alumnae/i Relations team to focus efforts and resources on alumnae/i engagement and support.

As director, Bond will work with Alumnae/i Relations staff to maintain and create programming that supports a robust alumnae/i network and appeals to the many interests of the alumnae/i community.

“I am enormously enthusiastic about working with Millie Bond as she and her team plan a new era of outreach to our 22,000 alumnae worldwide,” says President of the Alumnae Association Saskia Subramanian ’88, M.A. ’89. “As an alumna, she understands our culture intimately and is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion for each and every one of us.”

Since May 2012, Bond has served Bryn Mawr as a regional development officer covering the Southeastern United States, including Washington, D.C. and Texas.

"As an alumna, I was honored to be considered for this position, and I am looking forward to continuing to serve my fellow alumnae/i and the College," says Bond.

After graduating from Bryn Mawr with a degree in Political Science, Bond spent a year teaching middle school History at Episcopal Academy. She then went to the University of Wisconsin and received her Juris Doctorate in 2009. She spent the next three years as the NALP/Street Law Legal Diversity Pipeline Fellow, working with law firms to pair them with high schools with the goal to encourage talented and diverse students to consider legal careers.
