Bryn Mawr College Elects Three New Trustees

At their April meeting, Bryn Mawr College's Board of Trustees elected three new members to terms that began on June 1, 2025. Keana Bloomfield ’18 is serving a three-year term as a young alumna trustee. Nicole Huynh ’06 is serving a five-year term as a trustee nominated by the Alumnae Association. Dana Thompson ’94 is serving a one-year term as an ex officio representative to the Board as President-Elect of the Alumnae Leadership Council, which will be followed by a five-year term as a trustee.

Keana Bloomfield ’18 recently completed an M.B.A. at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (graduation expected 2025). She served as a student member of the Wharton M.B.A. Ethics Committee and as the head of communications for the student-led Wharton Investment Management Club. Prior to Wharton, she worked at PNC Financial Services for five years, beginning as an asset management group development analyst and leaving as an investment advisor to pursue her M.B.A. In 2016, Bloomfield was one of 30 scholars with Girls Who Invest, an organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in the asset management industry.

Bloomfield earned her A.B. in English at Bryn Mawr in 2018. While at Bryn Mawr, Bloomfield worked as a Dorm Leadership Team Peer Mentor, a historian for Sisterhood*, and received Bryn Mawr’s Hester Ann Corner Prize for distinction in literature in 2018. As an alumna, Bloomfield has been back to campus to speak with students about Girls Who Invest scholars and opportunities for women in the financial field.

Nicole Huynh ‘06 is a global marketing strategist who specializes in transformative brand and client engagement programs that accelerate business growth. She previously held leadership positions at The Bank of New York Mellon, MSCI, Neuberger Berman, and J.P. Morgan. 

Huynh has been an engaged volunteer at Bryn Mawr, serving as a member of Tapestry from 2018 to 2023, where she was instrumental in working with a small group to vision and craft the mission statement for the group's launch. She also served on the President’s Advisory Council, Committee of Leadership Development for the Alumnae/i Association from 2016 to 2020, as a former Athletics Department Homecoming Liaison, and was on the board for the Bryn Mawr Club of New York City.

Huynh earned her A.B. in History of Art and Political Science at Bryn Mawr in 2006. As a student at Bryn Mawr, Huynh was a varsity field hockey player and member of the Athletic Association, an admissions tour guide, and a student athletic trainer. Huynh lives with her partner, Michael Randolph, and dog, Luna, in Jersey City, NJ.

 

Dana Thompson

Dana Thompson ’94 is a clinical professor of law at the University of Michigan Law School, where she directs the Transactional Law Clinics Program and the Community Enterprise Clinic. She is also the founding director of the Zell Entrepreneurship Clinic. A nationally recognized leader in community economic development and business transactional legal education, Thompson's work sits at the intersection of law, entrepreneurship, community development, and social justice. Throughout her career, she has worked with community-based organizations and small businesses to expand economic opportunities, strengthen local infrastructure, and advance racial and social equity in urban communities.

With more than two decades of experience in legal education, Thompson has developed expertise in clinical legal pedagogy and experiential learning. Prior to joining Michigan Law, she served on the faculty at Wayne State University Law School, where she founded and directed the Small Business Enterprises and Nonprofit Corporations Clinic and led the Damon J. Keith Law Collection of African-American Legal History. She is the creator and host of The Common Wealth, a podcast that explores community development, economic justice, and urban policy, particularly in Detroit and similar cities.

Before entering academia, Thompson practiced commercial real estate law at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Miller, Starr & Regalia in San Francisco, and later served as regional counsel for The Nature Conservancy, where she advised on land conservation transactions.

Thompson has served on numerous nonprofit boards and has held leadership roles in national professional associations. She was president of the Board of the Economic Development Corporation of Ann Arbor, has held board roles with Voters Not Politicians and TechTown Detroit, chaired the ABA Business Law Section’s Community Economic Development Committee, co-chaired the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law’s Legal Educators Committee, and served on the Wayne State University Board of Governors. 

Thompson is the President-elect of the Bryn Mawr College Alumnae Leadership Council and serves on the College’s Black Alumnae Fund Committee. She also previously served on the College’s President’s Advisory Council.

She earned her A.B. in Political Science and French from Bryn Mawr College and her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she served as an editor of the Michigan Law Review.
