Class of 2020: Marit Eiler

July 15, 2020
Marit Eiler

Major: Russian and Linguistics

Key Bryn Mawr Experiences: Being at Bryn Mawr in and of itself is a key Bryn Mawr experience. However, some of my other key BMC experiences definitely include stage managing for Shakespeare Performance Troupe’s Two Gents and Much Ado About Nothing (though it was cut short by COVID-19). Taking advantage of 24-hour Canaday while thesising is also something you can’t miss out on (even if you try). To get me through those late night study sessions, I’ve also found that finding out how many hardboiled eggs can fit in one’s pockets was key to my Bryn Mawr experience.

Hometown: St. Bonifacius, Minnesota

Post-graduation plans: Marit will be participating in the Russian Overseas Flagship capstone year in Almaty, Kazakhstan. After completing the program, she hopes to pursue a career in translation.

Message for the rest of the Class of 2020: It’s been a lot of hard work, and there’s a lot of hard work ahead, but we’ve made it this far so we can make it anywhere. Sending all my love to my fellow light blues!

Words of wisdom for the Class of 2024: Light blue is an amazing lantern colour and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! You’re all going to shine so brightly at Bryn Mawr, I know it!

I’d like to thank the Russian Department for helping me pursue my passion for languages and introducing me to the best friends I could ever make!
