Assistant Professor of Psychology Thomas P. Le

We're highlighting Bryn Mawr's newest faculty members throughout the semester. The College supports faculty excellence in both research and teaching.

Assistant Professor of Psychology Thomas P. Le graduated with a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park after completing a year-long predoctoral internship/residency at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School.

They are passionate about conducting research on how oppression and resilience related to race, gender, and social identities broadly affect outcomes such as disordered eating, substance use, and intimate relationships. As a mentor, Le focuses on: 1) providing concrete research skills to their mentees and developing their mentees as independent researchers, 2) taking into account how sociocultural factors affect the research process and one’s feelings of research efficacy, and 3) actively soliciting feedback from their mentees and incorporating that feedback non-defensively. They also enjoy teaching, providing therapy, and engaging in social justice advocacy.

In their free time, Le loves spending time with close friends and chosen family, reading and writing, jogging, playing tennis, and basking in on-point K-Pop and pop music.
