Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is an interdepartmental major between the Biology and Chemistry Departments. It serves as a rigorous preparation for a career in biochemistry or biotechnology, graduate school in biochemistry or a related field, or enrollment in a health-related professional school.

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major allows the student to progress through a series of courses that emphasize understanding life at the molecular level and utilize experimental approaches.

During the first two years, the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology coursework combines foundational courses in Chemistry, Biology, and the related sciences. In the third and fourth years of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology curriculum, students choose from a variety of courses to best match their interests and career plans.
