Sumi (Paek) DeBenedittis '97

Sumi (Paek) DeBenedittis '97

Sumi (Paek) DeBenedittis '97 was a Growth and Structure of Cities major and history minor at Bryn Mawr and now works as director of foodservice development and communications at PepsiCo. Sumi has been part of PepsiCo’s foodservice division for more than 20 years. On top of her role as director, she is also the current Diversity and Inclusion Council chair for the Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management and has previously served on its board of directors.

Lauren Kurtz '06, executive director of the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund

Fighting for the Future

A biology and economics double-major at Bryn Mawr, Kurtz went to law school at the University of Pennsylvania, where she specialized in environmental law, and joined the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund  in 2014 after working as a defense attorney for the law firm Dechert.

Building Community Through Food

In addition to co-founding Poi Dog sauces, Kiki Aranita M.A. ’11 is a chef, food writer, fiber artist, sauce entrepreneur, and recipe developer She was a senior editor at New York Magazine’s “The Strategist” and a contributor to The Guardian. She was a 2022 James Beard Media Award nominee and the 2023 recipient of the M.F.K. Fisher Prize.
