The Sourwood (Oxydendrum arboreum) is considered as an ornamental and shade tree. Its leaves are rich green and turn yellow, red, and purple in the fall. In the early summer, the Sourwood blooms white fragrant flowers. This tree grows to be 25-30 feet in height and has a spread of about 20 feet at full maturity. This tree is the class tree of Class of 1973.
