What’s happening at your internship?
I am interning as a Software Engineer (SWE) Intern and most of my work is programming. I am working in the Cloud + AI division at Microsoft, and specifically in the Azure Sentinel Threat Intelligence team. Azure Sentinel offers security analytics and threat intelligence and provides a single solution for alert detection, threat visibility, proactive hunting, and threat response. My projects for the summer are to work on some of the features within the Threat Intelligence blade. These projects will allow me to work with both the UI and the backend architecture.
Why did you apply for this internship?
I am a Computer Science major, and this is a Software Engineering internship. All that we learn in college is not very useful if we aren’t able to apply it in the real world. This internship provides me with the perfect opportunity to do so. I get an opportunity to be a part of a team that works to solve real-world problems and I get to contribute to this solution.
What has been your favorite part of this internship?
I enjoyed my internship a lot. Even though it is remote, I have had the chance to get to know my teammates, and people from other teams, very well. My favorite part of the internship is definitely getting to work with my mentor and my other teammates. I have a really good relationship with my manager as well, and if I have any questions, anyone is willing to hop on a quick call with me. The people at Microsoft and their willingness to help other people, while also contributing to their projects are what I like most about this place.
