Kate Hope Day '00 has signed a major deal with Random House for two books, including her debut novel If, Then reports Publisher's Weekly.
IF, THEN is a character driven novel set in a speculative landscape, in the vein of Tom Perrota's THE LEFTOVERS. In my novel the multiverse exists, and it’s intruding into the lives of four neighbors in the Cascade mountain town of Clearing, Oregon. Narrated over two eventful weeks, IF, THEN explores how a glimpse into an alternate life can transform the most settled person—how a vision of “what could have been” drives four characters to become brilliant, daring, and even heroic.
