The below message was sent to staff on December 1, 2025.
Dear Staff Colleagues,
As a follow-up to the message shared on September 9th, I am delighted to announce an additional improvement to our vacation policy.
The college recognizes the importance of time off for rest and rejuvenation. To better support you, we are increasing the maximum number of vacation days that staff can carry over into the next calendar year.
Effective January 1, 2026: Full-time staff (100% FTE) will be able to carry over up to 22 days of vacation into the following calendar year. (Currently, the limit is five days.)
Please note:
- Accrued vacation in excess of the carryover amount will continue to be forfeited.
- Vacation accrual continues to be pro-rated for full-time staff working less than 100% FTE and for part-time staff.
This improvement reflects our continued commitment to maintaining competitive benefits for our valued staff.
As always, we strongly encourage you to use your vacation time to relax and recharge. We also ask that you help us foster a culture of respect for one another's time away by minimizing emails and work calls when a colleague is on leave, unless there is an urgent matter.
The Office of Human Resources wishes you and your family restful and enjoyable holidays.
Sincerely,
Jill Walsh
