Why make the switch?
By teaming up with Dispatch Goods, Bryn Mawr joins the ranks of Stanford Healthcare, UC Berkeley, DoorDash, and more institutions and companies that are prioritizing sustainable dining. These containers use 80% less water and produce 66% less CO2 than compostables, and keep single-use packaging out of the waste stream. Every one of Dispatch Good's partners in foodservice has received positive feedback from this program, with employees expressing interest in incorporating even more options. One partner, after scaling away from compostable packaging, had saved over 335 kL of water (89,000 gallons), 94 metric tons of carbon (equivalent to 140 round-trip flights between NYC & London), and 12.41 metric tons of potential waste, with a return rate of more than 98 percent.
FAQs
These containers are made from durable, reusable polypropylene (PP #5), which is widely used for food-safe, heat-resistant products. They're long-lasting, fully washable, designed for high reuse cycles, and are BPA-free, BPS-free, and PFAS-free.
Nope! This program relies on the honor system to keep us accountable. Just make sure to drop your container in one of the bins in the Campus Center when you're done. When you bring your container back, it stays in rotation, cuts a lot of single-use waste, and keeps the program free for everyone. We count on you to keep the cycle going.
Yes, they are microwave-safe, but we always recommend removing the lid for ventilation.
All containers are washed at a commercial wash facility using high-heat sanitation that meets or exceeds health department guidelines.
