Offer Your Ideas About Bike Lanes on Montgomery Avenue

posted February 16, 2026

Lower Merion and Narberth have launched a comprehensive safety study of a seven-mile stretch of Montgomery Avenue, backed by a $340,540 federal grant. Prompted by high crash rates—including 532 reportable incidents between 2020 and 2024—officials are looking to address systemic issues like poor lighting, lack of turn lanes, and inadequate pedestrian infrastructure. As the townships work toward their goal of eliminating roadway fatalities, public input is critical to ensuring the final recommendations reflect the community's needs.

If you care about making Montgomery Avenue more accessible and want to see the addition of bike lanes or improved cycling infrastructure, your voice is needed now. Please take a moment to fill out the official safety survey to ensure that cyclist safety is prioritized in the upcoming redesign.
