Like to sort and help the environment? Make new friends by volunteering at the Staff Association’s End of Year Sale!

Have you heard of the Staff Association’s End-of-Year Sale? We hope you will sign up to help with sorting and organizing the EoY Sale this year! It’s such a massive undertaking, and as you may know, the Staff Association relies on invaluable help from community volunteers to organize and run the Sale.  In addition to proceeds being the Staff Association’s source of funding, we see it as important for the environment in keeping as much out of our landfills as possible and vital for community members who benefit from access to very low-cost items from the dorm moveout.  Anything we are not able to sell is sent to campus partners, local charities, or recycling programs, and we are proud to say that virtually nothing of value is discarded. This year we will have three student Impact Interns working with the SAEC to help measure donations, sort, and collect stories! I hope you each get to meet them during your volunteer hours. The SAEC and volunteers will be sorting deliveries from the Dorms from Thursday, May 14, through Monday, May 18.  We expect to have Staff Association Representatives in Schwartz Gym to help direct the efforts from 10am until about 5:00pm on business days. Below is an attached volunteer sign up with hours if you want to let us know you are coming and get announcements about the status of donation volume.  We will not be working on May 16, (because it is Commencement Day!), but we will be putting in a full day on Sunday, May 17.  Stop by on any day to lend a hand, if you’re able.  We expect to be especially busy on Monday, May 18th, so if you have any time before work, during lunch, or after work, we would be grateful for all hands on deck. As always, we also need volunteers to help with counting items and organizing during the sale too.
