2026 MLK Day of Service: Harriton Preserve Trail Protection
Join us at the Harriton Preserve for a few hours of work protecting the new paths within the preserve. Thanks to a significant grant secured by The Lower Merion Conservancy, these efforts will focus primarily on protecting new paths within the Preserve from invasive vines, i.e., laying mulch, etc.. On MLK Day, volunteers arrive and start with a coffee, a light snack and shake off the chill in the air by the Preserve's bonfire. Work commences quickly and goes even quicker once everyone gets moving. By noon, we are warm, with our hard work complete, and back to enjoying the bonfire for s'mores as huge thanks to the students are conveyed.

*Meet us at 9:30am at Pem Arch to travel via BMC van to the Harriton Preserve.* The Harriton Preserve's MLK Day of Service is by and large a snow shower or shine event. We are not deterred by cool temps or a bit of dampness or precipitation that isn't soaking. But, a downpour, temps in the teens, or an ice storm means that we postpone until Super Bowl Sunday (February 8). Bryn Mawr College welcomes the full participation of all individuals in all aspects of campus life.
