Bi-Co Mathematics Colloquium with Dr. Anna Nelson
Title: "Building Community and Finding Connections in Mathematics" Abstract: Throughout my mathematical journey, I have found joy and inspiration in establishing community in mathematics and discovering mathematical connections in real world applications. In this talk, I will discuss my path through mathematics and how community and connection have played a pivotal role at every career stage. Specifically, we will explore what mathematical and personal connections can be found in surprising places and how these mathematical connections appear in my mathematical biology research and in music.
